Are VIVA medical consultations confidential?

As all doctors licensed to practise in the UK, VIVA medical doctors are bound by the GMC Duties of a Doctor. Your consultation is confidential and will not be shared with anyone else without your permission. Two notable exceptions to this are when a child might come to harm or when there is threat of violence or to the lives of the patient or other individuals by the patient.

How do the VIVA make referrals and to whom?

We have built up a number of professional relationships with specialists who have undergone thorough vetting by the VIVA team. Our specialists are continuously monitored to ensure only the highest standard of care.

Do VIVA doctors offer home visits?

We don’t offer home visits at this time but are looking to extend our services to this in the future. If you expect that you will require a home visit within the foreseeable future, please get in touch as we may be able to accommodate this as part of an ongoing treatment plan.

Will I need a chaperone?

There is always the option for a chaperone to be present. This could be a relative or friend or we can arrange to have a formally trained chaperone available if required. Please request this at the time of making an appointment. There may be times when the doctor treating you would wish a chaperone to be present during an examination and this will be discussed if the situation arises.

Do VIVA doctors provide repeat prescriptions?

Our patients can request repeat prescriptions at any time by email, telephone or letter, or by using the form on our contact page. Prescriptions can either be picked up from reception or may be posted to your home address or nominated pharmacy.

What is VIVA Medical’s cancellation policy?

VIVA Medical requests 24 hours’ notice to rearrange or cancel your appointment. Patients who fail to attend their appointment or cancel within 24 hours of an appointment are charged the full consultation fee.

Does VIVA provide an interpreter?

Please include this request at time of booking to allow us to arrange our interpretation services which are subject to an additional fee.
