Are VIVA consultations confidential?

As with all doctors licensed to practise in the UK, VIVA Medi Clinics doctors are bound by the GMC Duties of a doctor. Your consultation is confidential and will not be shared with anyone else without your permission. Two notable exceptions to this are when a child may be liable to harm, or when there is threat of violence to the patient, or to others by the patient.

How do VIVA doctors make referrals, and to whom?

We have trusted relationships with various specialists, each who has undergone thorough vetting by the VIVA team to ensure that our standard of excellent care is continued throughout any additional referred care. Our specialists are continuously monitored to ensure clinical excellence.

Do VIVA doctors offer home visits?

We don’t offer home visits at this time, but are looking to extend our services to this in the future. If you expect that you will require a home visit within the foreseeable future, please get in touch as we may be able to accommodate this as part of an ongoing treatment plan.

Will I need a chaperone?

There is always the option for a chaperone to be present. This could be a relative or friend or we can arrange to have a formally trained chaperone attend if required. Please request this at the time of making an appointment. There may be times when the doctor treating you wishes a chaperone to be present during an examination, and this will be discussed as and when appropriate.

Which payment methods are accepted?

We accept payment by cash, cheques and all major credit and debit cards. Unfortunately we do not accept American Express. Please note that our payment policy requires consultations to be paid prior to the consultation.

Do VIVA doctors provide repeat prescriptions?

Patients who are registered to VIVA Medi Clinics can request repeat prescriptions at any time by email, telephone or letter, or by using the form on our contact page. Prescriptions can either be picked up from reception, or may be posted to your home address or nominated pharmacy.

Will my medical insurance policy cover my VIVA Medi Clinic fees?

It is essential that you check with your insurer before booking an appointment, as policies can vary dramatically. If you believe you are covered by insurance, then we respectfully request that you settle your invoice prior to the consultation and then claim back the amount through your policy. We accept cash, cheques and all major credit and debit cards except American Express.

What is VIVA Medi Clinic’s cancellation policy?

VIVA Medi Clinics requests 24 hours’ notice to rearrange or cancel your appointment. Patients who fail to attend their appointment or cancel within 24 hours of an appointment will be charged the full consultation fee.
